Tom first became interested in sport at an early age. Living in Newcastle at the time, he attended a school of excellence for male gymnastics and played football. Once he found rugby and athletics at high school he became more and more interested in fitness and how the body worked. His dream was to become a Physical Training Instructor in the army and work with injured soldiers at Headley Court Rehabilitation Centre.
After realising the armed forces was not for him he went on to study as a Personal Trainer and Sports Massage Therapist. His career first started at Next Generation Health Clubs York where he taught group exercise classes and took one on one Personal Training and Sports Massage Therapy. He was later offered the role of Fitness Director on board cruise ships with Steiner Transocean where he sailed around the Caribbean lecturing topics on “Core Conditioning” and “Detoxification for weight loss” whilst teaching group exercise classes and training guests on ship.
Once back in the UK, he had gained a high level of confidence and started to attract more and more people in pain and who needed rehabilitation. He worked at Bushey Grove Leisure Centre as a trainer and was promoted to Fitness Manager where he helped launch a new fitness facility. During this time he worked with Watford Football Club alongside the Sports and Exercise Science department, working with the Physiotherapist’s on academy and first team players.
Tom later studied with the CHEK Institute and took internships with top rehabilitation and strength training experts, as well as Chiropractic Doctors and learned to integrate many performance and healing modalities into his practice with outstanding success. He is registered with the Register of Exercise Professionals Level III and is also a fully qualified G.P. Exercise Referral Specialist and a Neuromuscular Therapist.
It is Tom’s legacy and purpose to inspire health and educate his clients about a healthy lifestyle and suitable solutions to overcoming their pain by taking a holistic approach.
